ECMC’s Anticoagulation Center manages patients who take Coumadin and other exceptionally helpful anticoagulants for a variety of conditions that require close monitoring.
An anticoagulant is a drug that helps prevent harmful clots from forming in the blood. Although these drugs (such as Coumadin) are exceptionally helpful to patients, they also require close monitoring. With finger-stick technology, patients can get immediate results on their blood’s ability to clot, and ensure their ongoing health and safety.
Physician referrals should include the patient’s history, a physical, appropriate lab data, a list of medications and the reason for referral.
