Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Scott Nodzo specializes in lower extremity joint replacement and reconstruction. He has dedicated his career to advancing the field of orthopaedics through advanced training and research in hip and knee replacement.
Dr. Scott Nodzo served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. During that time, he operated on wounded soldiers in Afghanistan and on veterans at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. In 2020, he returned to Buffalo, where his medical education began at the University at Buffalo.
A staff member of UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Dr. Nodzo is also Clinical Assistant Professor at UB Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He is an active member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Scott Nodzo’s awards and honors include the Hospital for Special Surgery Richard S. Laskin Research award in 2015; Orthopaedic Residency Scientific Day Research Award in 2015, 2016 and 2017; Outstanding Resident Award in 2015; and The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation of Buffalo Award in 2015, among many others.
Dr. Scott Nodzo has coauthored many journal articles on orthopedic infections and other arthroplasty subjects. He is also an editorial board member for The Journal of Arthroplasty and serves on the AAOS Knee Program and Devices, Biologics, and Technology committees.
