Kara Woods is a board-certified Physician Assistant in ECMC’s YOU Center for Wellness and has been practicing as an HIV/AIDS specialist at ECMC since 2018. With almost two decades of experience, Kara has treated not only patients living with HIV/AIDS, but also patients living with multiple comorbidities as well as geriatric patients. She has practiced medicine in multiple healthcare settings including: medical offices, hospitals, sub-acute rehab, long-term care and assisted living facilities.
Kara works collaboratively and empowers patients to participate in their medical health and wellness. She evaluates patients’ needs, reviews and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests and formulates health plans based on patients’ individual needs. Other duties she has performed include supervising PAs and NPs; coordinating and scheduling personnel for multiple clinics/locations and health screenings.
Kara is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, New York State Society of Physician Assistants, and Western New York Physician Assistant Association.
