Dr. William Wind is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of knee and shoulder conditions. His surgical interests include arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, and elbow, treatment of complex shoulder instability, rotator cuff injuries, knee ligament injuries, and ACL reconstructive surgery. He also has expertise in sports medicine and has a particular interest in knee cartilage preservation and restoration.
A staff member of UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Dr. Wind practices across Western New York to care for patients, from adolescents to adults to athletes of all levels.
Dr. William Wind currently serves as Director of the Western New York Cartilage Restoration Center and clinical assistant professor and full-time faculty member at the University at Buffalo, in addition to head team physician for the UB Bulls (both basketball and football) and head orthopedist for NCCC. His prior experience includes roles as team physician at Baldwin Wallace College, and tenures as assistant team physician to a number of Cleveland sports teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Browns.
His research efforts include studying the effects of different types of treatment options for both articular and meniscus cartilage injuries.
