Dental General Practice Residency
The Dental General Practice Residency at ECMC is a comprehensive, hospital-based program that focuses on training new general dentists to treat patients with various medical issues. Accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), this 12-month program provides a multidisciplinary approach to enhance the basics learned during pre-doctoral education. Residents benefit from experience in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings on our central campus.
The General Practice Clinic provides comprehensive care and features digital radiography, electronic medical records, and an in-house dental lab operated by a full-time lab technician. The Department of Oral Oncology and Maxillofacial Prosthetics is in the Ambulatory Care Center, a new facility featuring digital radiography (including a CBCT) and a designated in-house dental laboratory outfitted to make various maxillofacial prostheses.
Successful completion fulfills the requirement for obtaining a New York State Dental licensure for those who have met all other requirements of eligibility.
