Giving back to move our community forward.

Everyone knows someone who has come to ECMC to receive care. You can show your support and gratitude by making a gift to the ECMC Foundation. Every gift goes right back into the hospital so our staff can continue providing world class patient-centered care.

There are several options for making contributions to ECMC Foundation. We can also customize a giving plan that’s right for you.

Foundation Annual Giving

The Annual Giving Campaign helps the ECMC Foundation support the vitally important lifesaving medical mission at ECMC each and every day. Equipment purchases, supporting advances in technology, training, and patient comfort all help to ensure the ECMC medical teams have the resources they need to be the difference between healthcare and true care each day.

Employee Giving

The ECMC family works tirelessly everyday to provide the patient-centered care our community deserves. They believe passionately in the mission of the health campus, and this is borne out by the fact that over 50% of ECMC employees support the ECMC Foundation Annual Giving Campaign. Doctors, nurses, and staff all donate part of their paycheck to help ensure the needs of their patients, and each other, are being met. No gift is too small and every gift is appreciated.

Physician Giving

Support of the ECMC Foundation directly supports ECMC Frontline Caregivers. 100% of your gift to ECMC Annual Giving Campaign is reinvested into the ECMC family. Designate your area of support or opt to let the Foundation use it where it’s most needed.

Community Member/Corporate Giving

ECMC is Western New York’s Level 1 Trauma  Center and the region’s safety net hospital. No one is ever turned away, and every patient, from the wealthiest to the uninsured, is treated with the same level of care and respect. The community counts on ECMC, and we are grateful for the support of those we care for. Click the button below to make a donation to support ECMC. You can also donate through your workplace via the United Way giving program. Simply enter ECMC’s donor designation number, 7579, on the United Way form to direct your gift to the ECMC Foundation. We welcome corporate matching gift donations.

Many businesses and organizations designate ECMC as the recipient of their employees’ charitable contribution programs or through their overall corporate charitable giving policy. Corporate gifts to the Foundation are a critical source of revenue for the purchase of new equipment for the medical center, as well as the establishment of educational programs and research in the areas of trauma, kidney disease, emergency medicine, psychiatry, clinical pharmacology, and other medical specialties.

 Board of Directors

ECMC and ECMC Foundation have board members who care deeply about WNY and the patient care that is provided at ECMC. As a Board member, you understand firsthand the important role that ECMC plays in Buffalo. Our appreciation of your commitment to ECMC can never be overstated and we greatly value all that you do for the hospital and staff of ECMC and the ECMC Foundation.

ECMC Retirees

ECMC couldn’t be where it is today without the extraordinary help of the people who came before. All of our ECMC alumni and retirees have played a role in making ECMC a world class hospital. Thank you for everything you have done during your time here. We hope you continue to support ECMC Foundation to help us continue down the path of providing first-in-class service.

EJ Meyer School of Nursing Alumni

Before ECMC, it was Edward J. Meyer Memorial Hospital. We honor and value the work that the dedicated nursing staff did from 1939-1978. Named for the first President of City Hospital’s Board of Manager, Dr. Edward J. Meyer, this is where the city’s first blood bank was housed and the first to open heart surgery was performed in the community. We hope the nursing alumni of the hospital can look upon ECMC today and be proud of our past, our present, and our path for the future.

When you make an honorary or memorial gift, the ECMC Foundation will notify the honoree or next of kin if you request and will administer the gift as you direct. Gifts can be made in cash, check, and credit card.

Major Gifts

Whether a lump sum donation or a gift pledged over several years, a major gift to the Foundation may provide the resources for a surgical suite, a lounge for the use of patient families, or the purchase of state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. Major gifts make a significant difference for patients, their families, and our medical professionals for years to come.

ECMC Tribute Garden Paving Stone Memorials & Honorariums

You may also honor or memorialize someone by purchasing an engraved brick paver. These permanent bricks make a pathway through our garden and are a lasting tribute to someone special. Your paver will be engraved with a message of your choice and installed in the ECMC Tribute Garden. Engraved brick pavers are available in two sizes at $100 (4×8) and $150 (8×8).  For more information and engraving details, contact Pamela Brinkworth-Muzzio at (716) 898-6568 or pbrinkworth@ecmc.edu.

Event Sponsorship

ECMC Foundation offers a variety of sponsorship options for our events throughout the year. Through special events such as our annual Springfest Gala and Auction, the Buffalo Subaru 4-Mile Chase, and the ECMC Foundation Golf Classic, your organization can provide sponsorship as a part of ECMC’s corporate support network.

Planned Giving

Planned gifts allow you to make a significant gift while maintaining financial security for you and your family. Bequests, retirement plan designations, gifts of life insurance, gift annuities, and charitable trusts are just a few types of planned gifts, which often provide attractive tax advantages and other financial benefits for the donor and their beneficiaries. Consult with your personal financial planner and/or attorney while making your planned giving decisions.

Bequests: For many, this is the most significant gift that can be made. A charitable bequest removes assets from the donor’s estate and reduces federal taxes.

Retirement Plans: A donor can make a deferred gift by naming ECMC Foundation as a beneficiary of his or her retirement plan.

Life Insurance Gifts: A donor can name ECMC Foundation as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy.

Gift Annuities: These are both a charitable contribution and an investment. The annuity provides guaranteed fixed income for the donor’s lifetime and/or for the lifetime of another beneficiary.

Charitable Remainder Trust: This generates income for the donor that is fixed or that fluctuates with market conditions and the growth of the trust. Income may continue through the donor’s lifetime or for a set term and benefit a charity (ECMC Foundation) upon death.

Charitable Lead Trust: Designed for a donor who would like to give to ECMC Foundation but also wants to pass assets on to family members. ECMC Foundation receives income interest for a period of years or for a period of someone’s lifetime. After that time, the trust reverts to the donor or the donor’s beneficiaries.
