The opening of Terrace View, the all-new, advanced-design senior skilled nursing facility, also includes a new dedicated subacute rehabilitation center for patients in need of post-operative rehab and other types of recovery, providing comfort and care in a new modern environment.

Subacute rehab patients at Terrace View enjoy complete access to all the amenities of this beautiful new environment, including the friendly, personalized “neighborhood” residency, a central food service and lounge area, and a dedicated staff. Most important, Terrace View’s rehabilitation facilities offer all the latest rehab equipment and a staff of gifted trainers, physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists.

The Terrace View Subacute Rehabilitation Unit is dedicated to improving your health and quality of life during your rehabilitation. Our staff will work with you to recover your strength and normal abilities after a surgery or serious illness. Staff members also include:

  • Physiatrists (physicians specializing in rehabilitation)
  • Registered nurses
  • Physical therapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Speech pathologists
  • Social workers to help ease your adjustment back to normal life

Treatments & Procedures

Subacute rehabilitation at Terrace View offers patients the opportunity to recover in a supportive and strengthening environment. Surgical patients can pre-plan their post-operative stay at Terrace View and a private room will be reserved for them. Whether your surgery was performed at ECMC or elsewhere, you’re assured of the best possible rehabilitation services under the guidance of rehabilitation specialists.

At Terrace View, you’ll receive:

  • 24-hour physician and nursing care
  • Occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy and recreational therapy (Learn more)

Additionally, our rehabilitation specialists work with patients on activities to build strength and regain coordination, with amenities including:

  • A bedroom in which to practice bed-making skills
  • A kitchen for practicing cooking and other kitchen activities
  • A bathroom for activities including showers and tub transfers
  • Portable stairs to climb and descend
  • Parallel bars to practice walking
  • A Cybex machine for performing upper body exercises
  • Raised, padded exercise mats for stretching and other physical therapies
  • Recumbent bicycle and arm bike for strengthening legs and arms
