MICHAEL A. MANKA JR., MD | President Elect, Chief of Emergency Medicine

Dr. Michael Manka is President Elect and Chief of Emergency Medicine at ECMC. A residency-trained emergency physician, he is board certified, a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and a member of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.

Along with overseeing the emergency department at ECMC, he has been a member of the medical admissions committee at SUNY Buffalo and an oral board examinder for the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Michael Manka’s research interests are focused on the assessment of trauma patients using ultrasonography as well as emergency medicine administrative issues, including quality improvement, patient flow, and patient satisfaction.

He has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the ECMC Foundation’s Distinguished Physician honor and the Seigel Award for Excellence in Teaching.
