Biography

Anne Grand’Maison, MD  |  Attending Physician

Dr. Anne Grand’Maison is a member of the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology-Oncology. Her clinical efforts are divided between Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Erie County Medical Center, with a focus on Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcomas, Melanoma and Head and Neck tumors.  Her expertise in Sarcoma will contribute to the development of a strong, state-of-the-art Sarcoma program across the Great Lakes Health System.  

Dr. Grand’Maison obtained her medical doctorate at the University of Sherbrooke, Canada, where she completed her residency in Internal Medicine.  She then trained in Hematology in Quebec City, in Thrombosis and Hemostasis at McMaster University and worked at the University of Toronto as a hematologist, a thrombosis/hemostasis expert.  After completion of her Medical Oncology training at McMaster University, Dr. Grand’Maison completed a fellowship in Sarcoma Medical Oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas, where she acquired a unique set of skills in the treatment of Sarcoma.  During her training, Dr. Grand’Maison also gained expertise in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Toronto.  She continues to pursue clinical research activities in the field of Epidemiology and Environmental Medicine in Oncology at the University at Buffalo.  Her epidemiology research pertains to investigating the role of environmental and occupational exposures, particularly pesticides, as an etiological factor in Sarcoma and in other cancer types.  

Dr. Grand’Maison is the principal author and co-author of several peer-reviewed publications in the areas of Hemostasis-Thrombosis and Sarcoma medicine.
