Biography

Hoylan T. Fernandez, MD, MPH, FACS  |  Transplant Surgeon

Dr. Hoylan Fernandez is a transplant surgeon within the Center of Excellence for Transplantation and Kidney Care at ECMC. After earning her MPH from Boston University and MD from the University of Chicago, she completed a general surgery residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.  She completed two fellowships at Baylor University Medical Center, one in abdominal transplant surgery and the other in hepatobiliary, living donor liver, auto islet transplantation. She most recently served in the roles of Chief of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Vice Chief of Surgery, Chief of Surgery, Chair of Robotic Surgery, and Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center. Dr. Fernandez is board certified by The American Board of Surgery and the Transplant Accreditation and Certification Council.  She brings extensive expertise to her role here at ECMC.
