

John Cumbo
Chief Information Officer
Biography
John Cumbo is the Chief Information Officer at ECMC. Previously, he served as Vice President of Information technology, where he was responsible for all technical aspects of ECMC’s information technology program. As CIO, he is responsible for all aspects of information technology, including data, tech support, technology infrastructure, and applications. Additionally, in collaboration with the office of General Counsel and Chief Information Security Officer, he is responsible for cyber security. In 2003, John joined ECMC as a network analyst. Since that time, he has risen through the ranks and has been a valuable contributor to information technology services. In his various roles and throughout his career at ECMC, John has lead or co-lead various critical initiatives for ECMC, including the implementation of ECMC’s first Picture Archiving and Communications System, the implementation of ECMC’s Ambulatory Health Record, along with numerous technology improvement initiatives. Prior to joining ECMC, John worked for several technology companies, including locally at Ingram Micro.
John graduated from the University at Buffalo with a liberal arts degree in 2000 and he received a post-graduate diploma in Information Technology from Liverpool University in the United Kingdom in 2005.
