Biography

Dr. Jordan Frey is a plastic surgeon in the Center for Cancer Care, Department of Head and Neck Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at ECMC. Dr. Frey specializes in breast reconstruction using implants and patient’s own tissue (DIEP flap, PAP flap, SGAP/IGAP flap, LAP flap, and more). Further, he is at the forefront of performing breast resensation and neurotization to maintain and restore breast sensation after mastectomy. Dr. Frey also specializes in lymphedema surgery including lymphovenous bypass and vascularized lymph node transfer. His other clinical interests include nipple-sparing mastectomy, complex microsurgery of the head and neck, extremities, and trunk, as well as body contouring and aesthetic surgery.

Dr. Frey completed his plastic surgery residency in the Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery at NYU Langone Health, one of the top research and clinical training programs in the world. There, he also completed an additional fellowship in microsurgery.

A member of various committees for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Frey has published over 80 peer-reviewed research manuscripts, contributed to over 15 book chapters, and lectures nationally. Dr. Frey has won numerous regional and national research awards and is one of the few plastic surgeons in the country who is trained to perform robotic-assisted microsurgical breast reconstruction.

A native of Buffalo, Dr. Frey is passionate about caring for all patients in Western New York looking to restore form and function via plastic and reconstructive surgery.
