Biography

Dr. Joseph D. Mills is a board-certified attending colon and rectal surgeon at ECMC. Dr. Mills specializes in colon, rectal, and anal cancer, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, diverticulitis, constipation and fecal incontinence as well as the surgical management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He is trained in minimally invasive techniques including robotic, laparoscopic and transanal surgery in addition to traditional open surgery. Dr. Mills is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery with the University at Buffalo where he is involved in the oversight and training of the colon and rectal surgery fellow and general surgery residents at multiple hospitals.
