Biography

Liam T. Knott, MD |  General & Bariatric Surgeon

Dr. Knott is a board certified general and bariatric surgeon who performs a range of advanced procedures for patients with weight-loss goals. He also focuses on those patients suffering from conditions of the GI tract, gastroesophageal reflux disease (heartburn). He has significant experience in all hernias of the abdominal wall, as well as advanced training in complex incisional hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction. He specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. He has certifications in bariatric, endoscopic, and laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Knott worked with Surgical Associates of Western New York, PC, from 2018 to 2021. Since fall of 2021, he has worked with Synergy Bariatrics at ECMC, as well as with the UBMD Surgery group in Williamsville for general surgery patients.

Dr. Knott completed his undergraduate studies at Canisius College and earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Both his internship and residency were completed at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. His fellowship in Minimally Invasive, Robotic, and Bariatric Surgery was finished at Albany Medical Center. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Western New York Chapter; SAGES; Erie County Medical Society; and the Buffalo Surgical Society.
