Biography

Dr. Mandip Panesar is the Associate Medical Director/Chief Medical Information Officer, Medical Director of the Hemodialysis Unit at the Regional Center of Excellence for Transplantation and Kidney Care, and a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University at Buffalo. Dr. Mandip Panesar is Board Certified in Nephrology and is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology. In his role as the Chief Medical Information Officer, Dr Panesar provides medical leadership assisting physicians in the delivery of patient care, medical education/research and for the advancement of clinical quality/safety initiatives through the use of clinical information systems. Through his leadership of the dialysis program, he has been involved in multiple clinical trials and investigator initiated studies involving dialysis patients particularly in the fields of anemia and acid-base homeostasis. In addition to his clinical practice of nephrology, he is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents and nephrology fellows. Dr. Mandip Panesar is a former board member of the National Kidney Foundation’s Western New York Chapter, recipient of multiple research and clinical awards including the Erie County Medical Center Award of Excellence, and currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the UBMD Internal Medicine practice plan.
