Biography

Dr. Alam received her medical degree from Dow Medical College, University of Karachi, Pakistan. She completed an internal medicine residency at the University at Buffalo Catholic Health System – Sisters of Charity Program. Dr. Alam then went on to ful ll a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Minnesota and a two year fellowship in leukemia and allogeneic bone marrow transplant at Princess Margaret Cancer Center, University of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Alam then became a junior staff member at Princess Margaret Cancer Center where she was the director of education for the Canadian Bone Marrow Transplant Group before going into private practice in Western New York. Dr. Alam primarily focuses on hematology and oncology. She has published in numerous medical journals and received several honors during her residency and fellowship programs. She is a member of the American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
