Biography
T. Robert Qaqish, MD, MSc I Thoracic Surgeon
Dr. Qaqish completed his thoracic surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. After he completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Toronto, Dr. Qaqish obtained his medical doctorate at Ross University School of Medicine, where he graduated with highest honors. Dr. Qaqish then interned and completed his general surgery residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore (an affiliate teaching hospital of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine). During his general surgical training, he was awarded ‘Resident of the Year’ by the Department of Surgery at Sinai for his dedication to patient care. Dr. Qaqish also completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in lung transplantation at the Latner Thoracic Surgery Laboratories in the Toronto General Research Institute (University of Toronto). He has authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed publications in various areas of general thoracic surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery (2019).
