Biography

Dr. Yaron Perry joined ECMC as the Thoracic Surgery Chief of Service after six years with the University at Buffalo as Chief Division Thoracic Surgery, Medical Director of Comprehensive Center For Thoracic Malignancies, and Co-Director of Robotic Surgery.

Dr. Perry developed the Thoracic Oncology Service Line in three major Buffalo-area medical centers, including Buffalo General, ECMC and Millard Fillmore Suburban hospital. He developed the Thoracic Robotic Minimally Invasive Surgery Program at UB. He also established an academic, state-of-the-art Thoracic Tumor Board from the faculties of the UB Departments/Divisions of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, GI Medicine, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, and Medical Oncology and Pathology to increase the quality of care for cancer patients in Western New York, emphasizing a compassionate, highly personal approach applying a social navigation system, palliative care, cancer screening programs, and community education – recently ranked among the top 2% in the country.

Before his roles with UBMD, Dr. Perry served as Medical Director of Thoracic Surgery at University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Centre in Beachwood, Ohio; Head of Thoracic Robotic Surgery Service within UH Cleveland Medical Center in Ohio; and Director of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery at Curtis & Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. A graduate of the Hebrew University School of Medicine, Dr. Perry is certified by both the Israeli and American Boards of Surgery, and has spent more than 25 years as a professor of surgery at such U.S. collegiate institutions as Case Western (Ohio), Tufts (Massachusetts), and the University of Pittsburgh, PA.
