Annual NYS Department of Health survey continues to show improvement for long-term health care services
BUFFALO, NEW YORK – ECMC today announced that its Terrace View Long-Term Care Facility has demonstrated a continuing, positive level of improvement for the care of its residents based on a recent NYS Department of Health (DOH) survey. The NYS Department of Health recently informed ECMC that it has accepted its plan of corrections for only five “non-harm citations,” after which, within 60 days from receipt of acceptance of the plan, the DOH will recertify Terrace View.
Thomas J. Quatroche, Jr., Ph.D., ECMC Corp. President and CEO, said, “The dedicated caregivers and support staff at Terrace View have, again this year, demonstrated their commitment and dedication toward our long-term care facility residents, reflected in this most recent, very positive Department of Health survey. I commend all of the excellent Terrace View staff members for their professionalism and compassion in their care.”
Stephen Woodruff, Administrator, Terrace View Long-Term Care Facility, said, “It is with much gratitude and appreciation that I thank all our Terrace View staff for their consistently positive efforts. With each new annual DOH survey, our staff continues to demonstrate their ability to improve, resulting in Terrace View delivering the best of care to our residents.”
Earlier this year, Terrace View received an overall 4-star rating from a survey conducted by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The overall rating is based on a nursing home’s performance on 3 sources: health inspections, staffing, and quality of resident care measures.
