Educating our
future professionals
As part of a series, ECMC staff introduced Math Science Technology Prep. High School students to careers in health care. The presentation informed students about Emergency Medical Services. Shown on stage are: Tina Allen, AVP for Critical
Care and Emergency Services; Derek Baker, Principal MST Prep. H.S.; and Karen Beckman-Pilcher, RN, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Emergency Department.

31st Annual Research and Scholarly Activities Conference
ECMC presented eight posters for the 31st annual Research and Scholarly Day. Posters were presented from Behavioral Health, Med/Surg, and TICU. In all there were almost 30 posters from our neighbor hospitals and academic centers. Awards went to the top three posters which included our TICU poster on “Trauma ICU Patient Experience Initiative”. All the posters awarded had a patient experience base. After the poster session, Dorothy Weir, RN, CWON, CW, presented on “Wound Care: State of the Science”.
